Pricing & What to Expect

If you’ve never worked with a sports dietitian before, it’s fair to want to know what you’re actually signing up for before you book anything. Here’s the honest rundown.

Your First Session

The first appointment is a full nutrition assessment, not a generic intake form. Expect to talk through your training history, current eating patterns, health history relevant to performance, and whatever specific problem brought you in, whether that’s a race you’re training for, a body composition goal, or something that’s been off for a while and you can’t quite pin down why.

Plan for this to run longer than a typical follow-up. It’s the session where the actual plan gets built, so it’s worth the time.

What Happens After That

You’ll leave the first session with a starting plan, not a finished one. Nutrition coaching that actually works adjusts as you go, so follow-up sessions are where the plan gets refined against what’s actually happening in your training and your life. How often those follow-ups happen depends on what you’re working on: someone in a race-prep block close to competition typically needs more frequent check-ins than someone in a maintenance phase.

Pricing

Current session pricing and package options are listed on our online booking page, where you can also see availability and book directly. [FLAG: confirm this MindBody link still reflects current pricing before publishing — if pricing has changed since the link was last checked, either update it there first or list current numbers directly on this page instead of only linking out.]

Insurance

If you’re in Massachusetts and want to know whether your insurance covers sessions, that’s covered in detail on our Telehealth & Insurance page.

FAQ

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you’re working on. Some athletes come in for a handful of sessions around a specific goal, like race-day fueling for an upcoming event. Others work with Andrea on an ongoing basis through a full training cycle. This gets discussed honestly during your first session, not decided for you in advance.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No, you can book directly without a referral.

Can I switch between in-person and telehealth?

Yes. A lot of clients mix the two depending on their schedule, especially athletes who travel for races or competitions.

What if I’m not sure which program fits me?

That’s a normal place to start. Reach out through the contact page with a quick description of what’s going on, and Andrea can point you toward the right fit before you book anything.
