About Andrea

Introducing Andrea
Andrea didn’t set out to become a sports dietitian because it sounded like a good career. She grew up around endurance sport and good food. Her dad ran ultramarathons. She swam and played water polo in college. And her mom, in Andrea’s words, is “the best French cook you’ll ever meet.”
Between the training and the kitchen table, she learned early that food drives performance, and that it should taste good too. She also kept running into the same problem, in herself and in the athletes around her: training advice was everywhere, but fueling advice was either generic or missing entirely. That gap became her focus.
Today, as founder of H2O Nutrition, LLC, Andrea is a Massachusetts-based sports dietitian who works with athletes by telehealth, with no office visit required. She works with clients in both Massachusetts and California, returns to San Diego periodically, and travels for hired speaking engagements.
Credentials and Education
Andrea is a Registered Dietitian [Nutritionist] (RD/RDN) and a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) — the premier board certification for sports nutrition professionals in the United States, administered through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Earning it requires an active RD credential plus a minimum number of practice hours specifically in sports dietetics — what separates a CSSD from a general nutrition coach or an uncredentialed "nutritionist."
Her academic and clinical background:
01

Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition
San Diego State University (SDSU)
The science behind every plan
02

Clinical Nutrition Internship
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Harvard Medical School
Hospital-based training in medical nutrition therapy.

05

Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
Second national board exam · RDs only
Requires 2,000 hours of sports dietetics practice and recertification every five years.

Comprehensive Nutrition Care for Athletes
That combination of clinical training and sport-specific certification is why H2O Nutrition handles both performance fueling and the medical side of athlete care — disordered eating, GI issues during training, recovery from injury or illness — under one virtual practice.

San Diego, CA
WEST COAST HOME BASE
Massachusetts
EAST COAST HOME BASE
Outside virtual counseling, she's available nationwide for hired speaking engagements — keynotes, team workshops, and conference sessions, booked separately from 1:1 counseling.
