Endurance Athlete Nutrition

Marathoners, triathletes, cyclists, and swimmers all face the same core challenge: matching fuel intake to hours of sustained aerobic output without running out of energy, cramping, or dealing with GI distress mid-race. H2O Nutrition works with endurance athletes of every level — from first-time marathoners to age-group triathletes chasing a Kona slot — to build individualized fueling plans.

What We Address

Daily fueling for training load — adjusting intake as weekly mileage or training hours change across a training cycle
Race-week carbohydrate strategy — practical carb-loading protocols suited to your race distance and GI tolerance
In-race fueling plans — specific products, timing, and quantities tested in training before race day, never guessed on the day
Hydration and electrolyte strategy — individualized to your sweat rate, climate, and race conditions
Recovery nutrition — rebuilding glycogen and supporting adaptation between high-volume training days
Multisport-specific needs — triathletes and swimmers have different practical fueling windows than runners or cyclists, and we plan around that

Who This Is For

First-time and repeat marathoners
Age-group and competitive triathletes (sprint through full-distance)
Road and gravel cyclists training for gran fondos or stage races
Competitive and masters swimmers
Anyone who has “hit the wall” or dealt with mid-race GI issues and wants a real plan instead of guessing

How It Works

Andrea Dacey, RDN, CSSD works with endurance athletes in person in Boston and San Diego, and nationwide via telehealth. Plans are built around your actual race calendar and training plan, not a generic template. Many endurance athletes also work with H2O Nutrition on sports supplement and hydration strategy alongside their fueling plan.
